🌟 What If “Misbehavior” Isn’t What You Think?: Rethinking Discipline with the CPS Model
An Introduction to Dr. Ross Greene’s Collaborative & Proactive Solutions Model
Led by Fran “Coach Franny” Rubio-Katz — Certified CPS Provider (clinic + school-based) & Trainer with Dr. Greene’s nonprofit, Lives In The Balance
❓ What If Discipline Isn’t What You’ve Been Taught?
So much of what we’ve been taught about working with challenging kids isn’t wrong because we’re not trying — it’s wrong because the story we’ve been told is incomplete.
The truth?
Kids do well if they can.
When they can’t, it’s not because they’re unmotivated, manipulative, or “just looking for attention.” It’s because they’re lacking the skills to meet our expectations.
And the same goes for you.
Caregivers do well if they can.
When you can’t, it’s not because you’re too lenient, too strict, or incapable — it’s often because you’ve been led to believe you must have all the answers and handle every challenge on your own. That kind of pressure can lead to reactive, one-sided approaches that create more conflict instead of more communication and problem-solving.
💡 The Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model flips the script — shifting us from doing things to kids or for kids to solving problems with kids.
📚 In This 75-Minute Live Workshop, You’ll Learn:
- The five paradigm shifts that reframe discipline from “won’t” to “can’t (yet)”
- Why rewards and punishments often backfire — and what to do instead
- How to uncover the unsolved problems driving conflict and meltdowns
- A practical roadmap for working with even the most challenging kids while enhancing the skills they’re missing
- How to start using CPS in your own home, classroom, or practice the very next day
đź’– Why It Matters
When we change how we see kids, we change how we respond to them — and that changes everything.
✨ Instead of power struggles, you get partnership.
✨ Instead of temporary fixes, you get lasting growth.
✨ Instead of feeling stuck, you feel hope.
👥 Who Should Attend
Parents • Educators • Pediatric Professionals • Anyone supporting kids with behavioral, emotional, or sensory challenges

đź–Ą Format: Live, online (Zoom)
đź’˛ Cost: $36 per person
đź’ˇ Why the Low Cost?
I’m committed to making this learning accessible to everyone who supports kids — parents, educators, and service providers alike. I know how many educators, in particular, want access to high-quality training outside of their school’s professional development, and I want to make that possible. That’s why I’ve intentionally kept the price low.
